MCLA Names Blue & Gold Athletes of the Month
MCLA held their annual Blue & Gold luncheon where they named their athletes of the month.
Each month the Athletics department honors its athletes by issuing out "Blue and Gold" Athletes of the month. The department also issues a newsletter at the luncheons held in their honor. The newsletter and athletes are below:

September-
Anthony Cancilla- Men's Cross Country
Cancilla won a pair of races in early September, capturing the Castleton State Spartan Invitational as well as the Vermont Tech Invitational. For his efforts at Castleton, Cancilla took home MASCAC runner of the week honors. The honor was the first fopr an MCLA runner since the conference began recognizing them. He finished in the top ten of his final race of the month. The September Male Athlete of the month is Anthony Cancilla.
Claire Simmons- Women's Cross Country
Simmons had a pair of top ten finishes in her lone two meets as a Trailblazer. She finshed seventh in Castleton State Spartan Invitational while posting her best finish of the season, crossing the line in fifth place at St. Joseph (CT) Invitational. For her efforts, she is the winner of the September Blue & Gold Athlete of the Month.
October-
Sarah Cowdell-Women's Tennis
Cowdell posted a 7-1 mark in the month, including a perfect 4-0 mark in doubles play in which she teamed with three different Trailblazers to earn points. She was instrumental in MCLA posting a pair of victories. For her efforts, the freshamn is named the October Blue & Gold Athlete of the Month.
Sean Cota- Men's Golf
Cota earned All NAC honors following his fifth place finish at the NAC Championships. The four year performer carded a 78-77 for a two day total of 155 to earn the first team honor. Cota finished 10 shots back of conference player of the year honors. For his efforts, Cota is the Blue & Gold Athlete of the Month for October.
