Strand Induction

Strand was a four year letter winner under Dot Houston.  She was a captain during her career and had an outstanding run in North Adams accumulating 1,039 points, 969 rebounds, and 370 blocks.  At the time, she was just the second 1,000 point scorer in program history.  Her 370 blocked shots are still a school record today.

Her best season statistically was during her junior year when she averaged 12.5 pts, 10.7 rebounds, and 5 blocked shots per game.  During that season, she twice accumulated 20 rebounds which was a school record at the time.  She ended the season with a school record 121 blocks.

Strand would record over 100 blocked shots in three of her four seasons at the college.

Strand graduated with a degree in Sociology.  Upon graduating, she stayed in the area and managed a residential home before relocating to Seattle for a few years.  Strand returned to Massachusetts and is currently working as a paralegal in the law offices of Alexander F.X. Matulewicz.

Strand enjoys spending her time with her family and reading just to name a few of her hobbies.
