Robert Delaney ’76, Baseball/Soccer

Delaney was a standout baseball player for former coach Joe Zavattaro during his four year career.  Delaney was instrumental as a middle of the order hitter.  Delaney was a two time All League performer and was tabbed as the baseball MVP in 1975.  He led the team in home runs and RBI's during his senior season.  He finished his career with ten home runs and 67 RBI. 
 

Delaney was also a member of the men's soccer program, leading the team to the conference championship in 1973.  He was an all-league performer during his last two seasons in North Adams for the soccer program.  At the time of graduation, he held the scoring record at the college.

Delaney also received the President’s Trophy for Soccer in 1971 and captaining both programs during his time.  He currently resides in Chelmsford, MA with his wife Brenda, also a graduate of the college, and has three sons, Sean, Bryan, and Kevin.  He enjoys golfing and restoring furniture, along with vacationing in Maine and Florida.
