Dot Houston was promoted to Associate AD for Administration and Compliance in the summer of 2015. Dot works with any outside groups wishing to use the campus athletic facilities including any area at the Joseph Zavattaro Athletic Complex and the James T. Amsler Campus Center Gymnasium. In addition, Dot is the scheduling coordinator for the thirteen team and individual sports at MCLA. Houston serves as the Senior Women's Administrator at MCLA, a role she's held since 2000.
Dot also serves as an adjunct faculty member in the department of Education, teaching a Coaching Principles course, coordinating the Coaching Minor and placing students into the local high school or college practicum sites. Dot has over ten years of college coaching experience along with over twenty-five years of high school and youth coaching experience. Dot works with the Faculty Athletic Representative serving as a mediator for all athletic teams.
Houston recently served on the NCAA Regional Rules working group, the ECAC softball New England Regional Tournament Committee and in 2014, facilitated the NCAA Career in Sports Forum. She volunteers for the MIAA Girls and Women in Sports Committee, the Women’s Sports Foundation, the Williamstown Tennis Club and serves on the board of the Gladys Allen Brigham Community Center and the NECBL North Adams Steeple Cats organization.
Dot received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Springfield College and Master of Exercise and Sport Science in Motor Learning and Control from The Pennsylvania State University. Dot lives with her husband Greg and their two grown children Kim and Sean.
