Fueled by junior Jon Greenberg's 28 point, 16 rebound performance, MCLA rolled past visiting Albany College of Pharmacy 111-70 this afternoon in the Trailblazers season opener.
Three young men were connected by more than their desire to play soccer when they arrived at MCLA four years ago. All were born in South America, moved to U.S. at a young age and graduated from area high schools.
The MCLA athletics community recently gathered to honor the accomplishments of their student-athletes from the 2008-2009 year. This is a night when MCLA honors not only their student-athletes, but those in the College's community who show tremendous support for the athletics programs.
MCLA placed two Trailblazers on the 2009 MASCAC All-Conference Teams as the announcement was made over the weekend.
Baseball earns 3rd seed and softball earns 4th seed
MCLA, which won the first game 15-7, moved to 19-13 on the season. Elms College, meanwhile, moved to 16-16.
All college students know that dreadful feeling as you watch your parents drive away to leave you behind. Youre a freshman and everything is new and strange and youre friendless once again. However, this was not the case for five young women from Hampshire Regional who found themselves in familiar company.
With assistance from the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and Choices Program, the team held a fundraiser in support of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). The event was a rousing success as the day yielded just over $2300 in donations.
MCLA finishes 4th at MIT Invitational
The MCLA softball team honored their three seniors for their final game at the Zavattaro Athletics Complex this afternoon.
