Men's Basketball falls at RPI 98-62

Troy, NY- RPI's Tom Horvat netted a game high 27 points while four other Engineers posted double figures as they cruised past the MCLA Trailblazers 98-62 this evening in non conference action.  RPI improves to 6-1 on the season while MCLA falls to 2-5 after the loss.

RPI started the game on an 8-0 spurt and eventually moved out to a 17-4 lead midway through the first half.  The Engineers were never truly threatened as they held a double digit lead the rest of the way.

They would go on to lead 44-26 at halftime and quickly squash any thoughts of an MCLA comeback in the opening minutes of the second half.   They opened the half on a 15-2 spurt to move out to a 59-28 lead and continued to pour it on.

Horvat was 11-15 from the floor for his 27 point night.   Rohan Harrison came off the bench to score 16 points on a perfect 7-7 effort shooting.  Mitchel Wayand added 12 points while Marcus Giese and Asa Barnhilll added 11 and 10 respectively.

The Engineers shot a solid 55% from the floor and outrebounded MCLA 42-24 in the win.

The Trailblazers were paced by Antoine Montgomery's team high of 15 points on 6-10 shooting.  He was a perfect 3-3 from three point range.  Quran Davis notched a season high 12 points off the bench while Noah Yearsley added 10 points, but was just 2-10 from the floor.

MCLA is back in action on Thursday night when they host Rivier at 8pm in the Amsler Campus Center Gym.
