Basile named MASCAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week

MASCAC Men's Soccer Weekly Release

North Adams, MA- MCLA junior forward Anthony Basile has been tabbed as the MASCAC player of the week following his performance in a road win over Salem State Saturday.  The honor marks the first for Basile this season as he collected a pair of honors in 2014.

Brodie Keene of Westfield State was tabbed as the rookie of the week.

Basile was instrumental in the Trailblazers earning their first win of the season at Salem.  He notched a hat trick scoring a pair of unassisted goals along the way.  Basile put MCLA up 2-1 at halftime and then knocked home the insurance goal later in the second half.

Basile, an East Longmeadow native, currently leads the Trailblazers in scoring with six goals on the season.  The Trailblazers have only eight goals as a collective unit.

Basile and the Trailblazers are off this week and return to play on Saturday when they host Westfield State at 1pm.
