MASCAC releases spring preseason polls
The MASCAC has released their preseason polls for both baseball and softball for the 2013 season.
Buzzards Bay, MA- The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletics Conference has released its preseason polls for both baseball and softball. The MCLA softball team was predicted to finish 6th, while the baseball program was selected 8th. The voting was tabulated by the league's coaches.
The softball team has already gotten off to a quick 2-0 start following a rare indoor doubleheader sweep of Lyndon State earlier this week. The Trailblazers, under the direction of 3rd year head coach Mike Ameen, will be heading to Fort Myers, Fl next week to compete in the Gene Cusic Classic. A year ago, MCLA finished 6-33 last season with a mark of 2-12 in league play. The Trailblazers will open conference play on Friday, March 29th when they host Fitchburg State. Bridgewater State was tabbed as the preseason MASCAC favorite.
The Trailblazer baseball team will open their season on March 8th in the RussMatt Invitational in Winter Haven, Fl. MCLA compiled a 14-23 mark last season under head coach Jeff Puleri. The Trailblazers finished 3-11 in league play. MCLA will also open the 2013 MASCAC schedule on Friday, March 29th when they host Fitchburg State in doubleheader action.
