MCLA falls in MASCAC playoffs to top seeded Westfield
The MCLA Volleyball team fell to top seeded Westfield in the semifinals of the MASCAC championships by a score of 3-1. The Trailblazers wrap up their season at 14-12.
Westfield, MA- The MCLA Volleyball team fell to top seeded Westfield State in the semifinals of the MASCAC championships by a score of 3-1. The Trailblazers wrap up their season at 14-12. Westfield went on to claim the conference title by defeating Bridgewater in the finals.
MCLA won the opening game by a score of 25-22 before dropping the next three games by tallies of 25-12, 25-19, and 25-15 in the clinching fourth game.
Alyssa Stankowski racked up 27 digs in Westfield's comeback victory over MCLA. Rachel Ryan posted a match-high 15 kills and Alex Shaw had 14 kills. Julia Warner contributed 12 kills, 10 digs and four block assists and Kerin DeGirolamo finished with 40 assists and nine digs.
Christina Kidd and Chelsea Halsted both registered seven kills for MCLA. Kristen Robillard tallied 13 assists and 17 digs and Amanda Lane had a team-high 22 digs. Kayla Bromback and Halsted had seven and five kills, respectively.
