Trailblazer Split Tri-Match, Pick up MASCAC Victory
The Trailblazers ran their winning streak to six games today before falling to Mt. Saint Mary (NY) in the second match of the tri-match that also included MASCAC opponent Salem State.
The Trailblazers ran their winning streak to six games today before falling to Mt. Saint Mary (NY) in the second match of the tri-match that also included MASCAC opponent Salem State.
The Trailblazers dropped the first game 25-21 to Salem before dispatching the Vikings in three straight, winning by scores of 25-21, 25-18 and 25-18. The victory put MCLA at 2-3 in the MASCAC and left them with an outside shot of securing a top four position in the conference and a place in the conference tournament.
Kayla Bromback had twelve kills and Hayley Gundersen and Angelica Perfido addred six apiece. Gundersen also added a game-high nineteen assists. Allie Chang led MCLA with twenty-three digs in the first match.
The Trailblazers saw that win streak come to an end by a score of 3-0 to Mt. Saint Mary. Mt. Saint Mary was in control throughout winning 25-15, 25-18 and 25-9.
Taylor Warnock had seven kills and Brittany Kish had nine assists.
MCLA plays a must win game on Tuesday when they face MASCAC rival Westfield State at home. This will be the Trailblazers final regular season conference game of the season and they need a victory to have a chance at a MASCAC playoff berth. The match is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
