North Adams, MA- The MCLA Volleyball program has released their 2019 schedule. The Trailblazers will be very road heavy this fall as they compete in a 28 game schedule with only 9 opponents in the Amsler Campus Center Gym. MCLA is seeking a return to the postseason in 2019 under longtime head coach Amanda Beckwith.
The Trailblazers will open up play at the Gordon tournament on Friday, August 30th and Saturday, September 1st. MCLA challenges the host Scots on Friday night before challenging Potsdam and MIT on Saturday. The Trailblazers will have their home opener on 9/3 when they host Mount Holyoke at 6pm. A tri-match at Norwich follows on the seventh before another home non league matchup, this one with Bay Path on Sept. 12.
Following the matchup with the Wildcats, MCLA embarks on a five game road trip that includes the conference opener. The trip kicks off with a matchup at Becker followed by the MASCAC opener at Westfield. A tri-match at Delhi follows before the road trip ends with a matchup against New England College on the 24th.
MCLA returns home on September 28th to host their own tri-match with Mass. Maritime and Amherst before turning the page to October.
Fitchburg State is on the docket on October 2nd and yet another tri-match on the fifth, this one at Utica College for the Trailblazers. MCLA will then host Sage on the eighth before heading to Keene State for a Little East tri-match with Eastern Connecticut on the 12th.
The Trailblazers play three straight home tilts as they host Framingham State (10/15) and then a tri-match with Salem State and St. Joseph (CONN) on the 19th. A road trip to Worcester State follows and then the final tri-match of the season on October 26th at Plymouth State with Castleton. MCLA plays their final home game on the 29th against Cobleskill before wrapping up regular season play on November 2nd at Bridgewater State.
