North Adams, MA- The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced their All Conference performers in Men's and Women's Soccer along with Volleyball. MCLA was represented by seven Trailblazers, including five athletes from the Women's Soccer program (Danielle Heinsohn, Lindsay Borbolla, Tina Klich, Jennifer Ferrari, and Ashlee Scofield). Men's Soccer and Volleyball were represented by second team selections, Jake McCall (Men's Soccer) and Julia Christian (Volleyball).
Women's Soccer
The five Women's Soccer performers included three first team selections in junior forward Jennifer Ferrari, senior back Tina Klich, and junior goalkeeper Danielle Heinsohn. Named to the second team were senior midfielder Lindsay Borbolla and sophomore back Ashlee Scofield.
Ferrari led the Trailblazers with 10 goals and 2 assists for 22 points. She also tallied four game winning goals in 2012. Klich and Heinsohn were instrumental in cementing a defense that recorded six shutouts on the season. Heinsohn would finish the season second in the conference, recording 161 saves on the season. Borbolla had a solid senior season in which she collected 5 goals and a team high 9 assists (2nd in the MASCAC), good for 19 points. Scofield was also a member of the backfield, however she did record a pair of goals and an assist on the season.
MCLA lost to Bridgwater State 4-0 in the MASCAC Quarterfinals to finish with a 7-11 record.
Men's Soccer
Senior captain Jake McCall was a repeat All MASCAC selection from 2011. As a senior, McCall notched a career high 7 goals and 2 assists for 16 points. He was named to the All tournament team at Norwich earlier this season. His tallies included a pair of game winners for MCLA.
The Trailblazers finished up 2012 with a mark of 5-10 overall.
Volleyball
Christian was a force in the middle of the Trailblazer Volleyball program. She led the team in kills (222) and also recorded 164 digs on the season. The junior also recorded a team best 32 blocks on the season.
MCLA wrapped up its season with a 3-0 setback to Westfield State in the MASCAC quarterfinals last week.
