Ameen and Koumjian selected to MASCAC All-Conference Team
The MCLA softball team placed two players on the 2010 MASCAC All-Conference team.
The MCLA softball team placed two players on the 2010 MASCAC All-Conference team. These players are familiar to the honor as both Hadley Ameen (North Adams, MA/Drury) and Kayla Koumjian (Watervliet, NY/Shaker) were named second team All Conference in 2009.
The Trailblazers battery in 2010 are both only sophomores giving Trailblazers softball fans reason to be excited over the next couple of years.
Ameen threw two shutouts and had fourteen complete games over the course of the season. Ameen also led the Trailblazers with eight victories and a 2.33 ERA. Ameen had her best performance in Florida an eight inning complete game 2-1 victory over Westminster (PA.).
Ameens’ catcher had a great season as well. Koumjian batted .336 with two home runs and seventeen RBI’s. Koumjian was a stalwart catching all thirty-six games for the Trailblazers. Koumjian was named to the team last season as a utility player, but was selected as a catcher this season. Kayla was 5-5 with three RBI’s in a thrilling 9-8 victory over Sage College in April.
