Softball Sweeps Bay Path

The MCLA Softball team ran their record to 6-10 courtesy of a road sweep of Bay Path College by scores of 16-0 and 14-0. Hadley Ameen (North Adams, MA) pitched the shutout in game one and freshman Sarah Greenwood followed that up with one of her own in game two.
Ameen pitched five innings allowing five hits and striking out four. Offensively the Trailblazers only had seven hits, but were awarded fourteen free passes via base on balls. Meg Boyer (Clarksburg, MA) was 2-3 with five runs batted in. Katie Oullette (Norwood, MA) scored three runs and hit her first home run of the season. Sam Naring (Norwalk, CT) and Amanda Borsotti (Lee, MA) both walked three times, Borsotti also stole three bases giving her nine on the season.
In game two Greenwood also went five, surrendering three hits and striking out two. Oullette had a monster game going 4-4 with two doubles and her second homer of the season. She also scored three runs, had five runs batted in and stole a base. Greenwood and Meg Vallieres (North Adams, MA) scored three times and Amber Coburn (Colrain, MA) was 2-3 with a run scored and an rbi.
