MCLA picked to finish sixth in MASCAC
The MCLA Women's Basketball team was chosen to finish sixth in the preseason poll released Tuesday by the MASCAC. The poll is conducted by a vote of all league's coaches.
The MCLA Women's Basketball team was chosen to finish sixth in the preseason poll released Tuesday by the MASCAC. The poll is conducted by a vote of all the league's coaches. Westfield State was chosen to repeat as champions.
MCLA is led by fifth year head coach Holly McGovern. She led the Trailblazers to a 14-12 season a year ago. MCLA finished fifth last season in the competitive MASCAC race as they qualified for a MASCAC tournament berth.
MCLA returns eight players from a year ago, including second team all MASCAC performer sophomore Jen Wehner. Senior Laura Silverman also returns as she has consistently been at the top of the league leaders for rebounds.
The Trailblazers will open their season on Tuesday when they travel to St. Joe's (CT) for a 7pm start. The home opener is against Williams on Sunday November 28th.
