Wehner earns second MASCAC player of the week honor
MCLA's Jen Wehner has been named MASCAC player of the week for the second time this season as announced today by the league. Wehner was named the tournament MVP for the 2010 Women's basketball championships.
MCLA's Jen Wehner (Cooperstown, NY) has been named MASCAC player of the week for the second time this season as announced today by the league. Wehner was named the tournament MVP for the 2010 Women's basketball championships. She and her teammates are awaiting seeding to be released for the 2010 NCAA tournament which begins on Friday.
Wehner led MCLA to its first ever tournament title by averaging 18.3 points and 11 rebounds in the three victories. She posted a pair of double doubles, including 20 points and 10 boards in the title clinching win over Worcester. She shot 57% from the floor for the week.
This is the second player of the week for Wehner, who was also named first team All Conference by the league's coaches. She leads the Trailblazers in both scoring and rebounding, as well as blocked shots and field goal percentage.
MCLA is currently 18-9.
