RBL Theory NCAA Summer Series
A social justice platform that focuses on building community through conversations based around the intersection of sports, culture, and identity. Identity intersects every part of life and it is important for people to show up authentically in every space they take up. This online program in the series centers racial justice in intercollegiate athletics from the student-athlete perspective. Five student-athletes share their experiences with racial inequities and how they are using their voices and platforms to advocate for racial justice. This presentation is focused on how to support students of color and how to effectively have challenging conversations. Additionally, this presentation focused on how to identify implicit bias and how to be more aware of your explicit biases. This presentation also, outlined facilitation techniques that will aid administration in becoming more engaged and present listeners.
