MCLA Athletics Golf Classic nets all time high, honors Dick Lamb and Holly Taylor

Pittsfield, MA- The MCLA Athletics Golf Classic was held yesterday amid cloudy skies and the threat of rain at Berkshire Hills Country Club.  132 golfers teed off in the scramble event that raised a record $30,000 for Athletics as the tournament was held in honor of Dick Lamb and Holly Taylor.

MountainOne served as the Presidents Club Title Sponsor in 2017 after the largest gift in tournament history.  

The Lamb/Taylors have been extremely supportive of the College as well as impacting the Berkshire County community. Lamb is a Foundation corporator; former Foundation Board director, and former MCLA trustee.  Taylor recently retired as the President of True North Insurance (now MountainOne Insurance) and has been a constant supporter of MCLA as well.

Each year, the golf classic tees off in support of the student athletes at MCLA.  With MountainOne setting the pace and Petri Contracting serving as the MVP sponsor, the tournament was destined to break the high water mark of $27,000 back in 2013.  After all the numbers were crunched, it was announced that the event had shattered that high with a grand total of $30,325 raised in 2017.

The scramble event was won by the MountainOne team with a gross score of 57 (-15 under par).  Closest to the pin prizes were also held along with long drive contests throughout the day.
