Registration now OPEN for 22nd Annual MCLA Athletics Golf Classic honoring Charlie O'Brien
The 22nd Annual MCLA Athletics Golf Classic will be held on Monday, August 6th at 1pm at Berkshire Hills Country Club in Pittsfield, MA. Registration for the scramble event is now underway!

North Adams, MA- The 22nd annual MCLA Athletics Golf Classic will be held on Monday, August 6th at Berkshire Hills Country Club in Pittsfield, MA. The department has announced that Charles P. O'Brien, the CEO of Adams Community Bank, will serve as the 2018 honoree. The event benefits the student-athletes at MCLA during the upcoming academic year. Adams Community Bank, a long time supporter of the golf classic, has signed on to be the Presidents Title Club sponsor in August.
A longtime supporter of Trailblazer athletics, this year's Golf Classic Honoree is a strong and visible advocate for student-athletes and regional community causes. Charlie has been active on a number of regional boards, including Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, Berkshire Housing Development Corp., and the Berkshire Visitors Bureau. He is past board president of both the Northern Berkshire United Way and the Adams Lions Club. Charlie also serves on boards or committees of the American Bankers Association, the Massachusetts Bankers Association where he currently serves as Chairman, and the Depositors Insurance Fund.
The golf classic is the department's showcase event and major fundraiser. Last year, the department raised over $32,000 for the student-athletes through the event.
A scramble format for golfers of all skill levels, the classic brings together community members and businesses throughout the county. Entry into the classic includes golf, cart, gift, and a buffet dinner reception in honor of Charlie. The event begins with registration at noon and a shotgun start at 1pm.
Registration for the event will begin on June 13th. The event will be open to the first 144 golfers registered.
