MCLA Golf Classic returns, nets over $31,000 for Athletics
On Monday, the athletics department held their annual golf classic at Berkshire Hills CC in Pittsfield
Pittsfield, MA-- After a year off due to the on-going pandemic, the MCLA Golf Classic returned last Monday under sunny skies at Berkshire Hills Country Club. The 18 hole shotgun scramble event benefits the Athletics department and is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Trailblazers. The event raised over $31,000 in support of Trailblazer athletic programs.
"It was great to see so many familiar faces return after a year absence," MCLA's Director of Athletics Laura Mooney said. "The Golf Classic is an integral event for our athletics programs and I'm thrilled to see the event return a sense of normalcy to our department."
Athletics partners with the Office of Institutional Advancement to organize the event.
Mountain One served as the Presidents Club title sponsor as teams enjoyed a sun splashed afternoon on the links. The field consisted of 108 players, many of which were alumni, and many sponsors.
The 1Berkshire Team took home top honors after carding a great score of 58 (-14) in the scramble event. The team of Jeff Puleri '12, Kevin Edick '84, Jake Ferrara '21, and Tim Lee won net honors.
