MASCAC Announces Partnership with Officially Human
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – On October 16th, the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) has announced a new partnership with Officially Human, an organization dedicated to restoring respect to game officials and reinforcing their role as the authorities on the fields and courts. Through this collaboration, the MASCAC aims to promote a positive game-day environment, support the recruitment and retention of officials, and strengthen the overall experience for student-athletes, coaches, and fans.
"We are proud to partner with Officially Human to advance our shared commitment to sportsmanship and respect for game officials," said MASCAC Commissioner Angela Baumann. "Officials play an essential role in creating a fair and positive competitive environment, and this partnership underscores our dedication to supporting and valuing them at every level of competition."
The MASCAC will provide each member institution access to resources created by Officially Human throughout the partnership. Videos and other informational items designed to help better educate and inform student-athletes, coaches, and fans will be highlighted throughout the membership.
Officially Human was founded by Brenda Hilton, who has spent over 20 years in college athletics working with sports officials from the mid-majors to the highest level of Division I. The Lombard, Illinois-based organization was founded in 2019 to restore respect to, and positive treatment of, sport officials through increased education and communication to all stakeholders (administrators, coaches, athletes, and fans).
"Officially Human is excited to work with the MASCAC and their membership," said Hilton. "I applaud the leadership in making sportsmanship and positive treatment towards sports officials a priority."
