Brown, Williams Take Home Top Honors at Athletic Department Annual Banquet
The MCLA Athletic Department held its 2026 banquet Wednesday evening in the Amsler Campus Center.
NORTH ADAMS, Mass.—Makenna Carter and Jaxen Potter served as masters of ceremonies for the 2026 MCLA Athletics Department banquet Wednesday evening in the Amsler Campus Center. With over 200 people in attendance, student-athletes, coaches, faculty members, and contributors were recognized for their performances and achievements over the past academic year.
Elizabeth Brown (Volleyball) and Craig Williams (Men's Basketball) won the night's most coveted awards with Brown claiming the Sue Getchell Award as the top female student- athlete and Williams earning the Louis Parisien Memorial Award as the top male student-athlete.
A two-time MASCAC Volleyball All-Conference First Team member, Brown edged out fellow Getchell nominees Kylie DeMaio from Women's Soccer and Hailey Peabody from Women's Basketball and Softball.
Williams finished second in the conference in scoring and three-point percentage earning a spot on the 2025-2026 MASCAC Men's Basketball All-Conference First Team. Cade Herrera from Men's Hockey's and Anthony Andolina from Men's Lacrosse's were also nominated for the Parisien.
Women's Hockey and Men's Golf earned the department's top team GPA awards while Kaylee Strayer from Women's Soccer and Jake Bluestein from Men's Basketball were the recipients of the Top Senior Academic Awards.
MASCAC Rookies of the Year Kaelynn Greeley from Volleyball and Gustavo de Oliveria from Men's Soccer were selected as the Most Outstanding Newcomers.
Ashlyn Bill and Neal Brierley received the Outstanding Student Service Award presented annually to the student employees or interns who perform their duties with passion and dedication and demonstrate a commitment to the success of the college's athletics department.
MCLA President Dr. James Birge and his wife Lisa Birge were presented with the Steve Green Award which is given annually to the individual or individuals who have demonstrated continued support and allegiance to the intercollegiate program at the college.
Both the first-and second-year classes of Chi Alpha Sigma were also inducted.
