For the 12th consecutive year, the NCAA has selected representatives from MCLA to attend the annual Student-Athlete Development Conference.
For the 12th consecutive year, the NCAA has selected
representatives from MCLA to attend the annual Student-Athlete
Development Conference. Over 600 student-athletes from all three
divisions around the country will take part in this year's even
from May 24 to 27 in Orlando, Florida, at the Walt Disney World
Coronado Spring Resort.
Each year student-athletes at all member institutions apply to
attend the conference. The NCAA receives over a thousand applicants
to attend this annual leadership conference. Patrick Moran, Marvin
Thompson, Katie Bodnar, and Samantha Piragis all submitted
applications.
After a long wait, the NCAA recently released the list of 2009
attendees. Moran and Thompson were chosen to represent MCLA, but
due to his English/communications internship duties at Walt Disney
World Moran is not able to attend. Bodnar will take advantage of
this wonderful opportunity and will attend in his place.
Partick Moran is a junior cross country runner majoring in
English/communications. Thompson is a member of the men's
basketball team and is a junior buisness major. Bodnar is majoring
in interdisciplinary studies and is a junior on the women's tennis
team. First-year cross country runner and English/communications
major, Piragis rounded out MCLA's applicant pool.
