MCLA Baseball releases 2009 Schedule
The MCLA Baseball season is right around the corner. The MCLA nine will begin play in the Russ/Matt invitational in Winter Haven, Fl. The season opener is set for March 12 against UMass-Boston. The home opener is scheduled for March 24th against Southern Vermont.

The MCLA Baseball season is right around the corner. The MCLA nine
will begin play in the Russ/Matt invitational in Winter Haven, Fl.
The season opener is set for March 12 against UMass-Boston. The
home opener is scheduled for March 24th against Southern
Vermont.
The 2009 schedule boasts six teams that were in the NCAA tournament
last season. MCLA will also play ten teams that were in the top
four in their respective leagues. After the opener with
UMass-Boston, the highlighted games of the spring trip will be
against Messiah College as well as Amherst College.
MCLA returns north and opens with Southern Vermont on March 24th.
Conference play begins on March 28th against Framingham State
College. Notable games on the northern schedule include perennial
top 25 teams Western New England, Keene State, and RPI. Berkshire
county rival, Williams College, also appears on the schedule in
2009.
The home schedule is highlighted by conference opponents Fitchburg
State, Westfield State, Bridgewater State, and Salem State. The top
four finishers within the league will qualify for the MASCAC
playoffs to begin on April 30. The tournament champion will earn
the conference automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
