Trailblazers Back on Winning Track

MCLA went on the road and earned a non-conference win vs. SUNY-Cobleskill in Cobleskill, NY. The Trailblazers jumped ahead early and cruised to a 10-4 victory pulling their record to 4-9 on the season.

Rick Massey (Cheshire, MA) went 7 strong innings to pick up the victory. Massey allowed four runs and struck out six. Sean Hermance (Elizaville, NY) and James Greeley (Auburndale, MA) both pitched a scoreless inning of relief.

The Trailblazers scored five runs in the first three innings and continued the onslaught in the middle frames taking a 9-2 lead into the top of the seventh.

Mike Meaney (North Adams, MA) continued his hot hitting collecting three hits and John Ripepi (Amsterdam, NY) , Eddie George (Falls Church, VA) , Brendan Wyand (Pittsfield, MA) , Vince Bordino (New Paltz, NY) and Paul Procopio (Pittsfield, MA) each had two hits apiece. Procopio also hit the Trailblazers only home run of the afternoon.

Ripepi and Meaney set the table all day at the top of the order reaching base six times and scoring five runs combined.

MCLA will host Southern Vermont Thursday at 3:30PM.
