MCLA Seniors earn second team All MASCAC honors
A pair of MCLA seniors, Joe Parillo and Paul Procopio, were both selected to the All MASCAC second team as announced today by the league offices. Voting was conducted by the league's eight head coaches.
North Adams, MA- A pair of MCLA seniors, Joe Parillo and Paul Procopio, were both selected to the All MASCAC second team as announced today by the league offices. Voting was conducted by the league's eight head coaches.
The honor for Parillo is his second straight as an outfielder. He was named a second team selection as a junior as well. The senior from West Springfield, Massachusetts was a mainstay in the middle of the Trailblazer lineup. Parillo batted .313 on the season, including five doubles and a pair of homers. He led the team with 14 RBI's as well.
Procopio returns to the All Conference team after a one year hiatus. He was a first team selection as a sophomore. Procopio led the team in hitting as he batted .337 on the season. The senior from Pittsfield, Massachusetts also collected six doubles while driving in 12. He added a homer as well.
Parillo and Procopio were both four year mainstays for the Trailblazers. Their most successful seasons came as sophomores when they led MCLA to a 20-15 record.
Worcester State's Corey McDonald was tabbed as the 2011 MASCAC player of the year, while Westfield State's Ray Arra earned the Turfer Coach of the Year award. Salem State sophomore Cory Collins earned the Rookie of the Year award.
