MASCAC announces Baseball preseason poll

North Adams, MA- The MCLA Baseball team has been selected to finish eighth in the MASCAC preseason poll.  The conference announced the results this afternoon following a vote of the league's coaches.  Westfield State was chosen as the preseason favorite.

The MASCAC will feature a 12 game schedule in 2021 due to the pandemic.

Westfield secured the top spot after receiving five first place votes and 46 total points.  They easily outpaced Framingham State for the top spot as the Rams came in second with 41 points.  Fitchburg State was third with 42 points while Worcester State is next with 30.

Bridgewater State came in fifth with 25 points as they held off Salem State.  The Vikings earned 21 points.

Mass. Maritime is seventh and MCLA is eighth.

The Trailblazers begin play next Friday when they travel to Fitchburg State.
