HOW IT WENT DOWN
- MCLA's Bradley Perry (Dryden, NY) had a successful first time through the Skidmore lineup, allowing only two singles. Eddie Galvao led off the second with a single to centerfield but was erased two batters later trying to steal second. Nate Vandersea picked up the second hit, leading off the third inning, before coming around to score when a pitch with the bases loaded hit Sam Kornet. A wild pitch would allow Quinn McDonald to score before Perry worked out of trouble by striking out Galvao.
- Collin Booth (Clarksburg, MA) would relieve Perry, allowing only a single run over two innings, setting up a Trailblazer comeback to tie the game in the top of the sixth inning. Roshan Warriar (Pittsfield, MA) drove home the first run with a double down the left field line that scored Josh Bologh (Waterbury, CT). Warriar scored on Chris Vargas' (Queens Village, NY) home run to center field, knotting the game at three.
- The bottom of the sixth was when things went haywire for MCLA, with the Thoroughbreds scoring four runs on four hits, including a three-run shot by Galvao. Skidmore also added another run in the bottom of the seventh inning when Holden Caney singled through the left side of the infield, driving in Owen Roy.
- The Trailblazers answered with a run in the top of the eighth inning, cutting the lead to 8-4. Warriar worked a one-out walk and scored from first when Rafael Castillo, Jr. (Bronx, NY) doubled into left.
- In the bottom of the frame, the Thoroughbreds added two more runs on three hits.
- Skidmore's Charles Modlin picked up the win to move to 3-1, while Matthew Belfance suffered the loss for MCLA, falling to 0-1.
