Baseball Shutout at Salem in Season Finale
MCLA's 2025 Baseball season concluded with a loss at Salem State

SALEM, Mass. – The MCLA Baseball team concluded their 2025 season this afternoon with a MASCAC game at the Central Campus Baseball Field on the campus of Salem State. Two Viking pitchers combined to limit the Trailblazers to two hits while striking out ten.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Salem scored single runs in the first and fifth innings before dropping five runs on the Trailblazers in the sixth inning.
- The Vikings' Ethan Stepputtis and Nicholas McIntyre were the only players with multiple hits. Stepputtis went 3-4 with a triple, a run scored, and another driven in. McIntyre was 2-4 with a double, a run scored, and another driven in.
- MCLA's freshman outfieklder Ben Jacob (Pittsfield, MA) opened the game by yanking a 1-2 curveball into the leftfield corner for a double but would ultimately be stranded a third base.
- The Trailblazers other hit was a fifth inning single that sliced down the rightfield line off the bat of senior infielder Matthew Belfance (Saugerties, NY).
- Four senior pitchers closed out the season for MCLA with Joshua Bissaillon (East Greenbush, NY) (0-7) going the first five and two thirds. Bradley Perry (Dryden, NY) finished the sixth while Ryan McDonald (Hanson, MA) and Garrett Brunette (Fairhaven, MA) each threw shutout innings to finish the game for the visitors.
- Salem's Jake Boucher struck out seven in seven and a third innings to pick up the win and move to 3-1. Nick Bamforth went the final one and two thirds for the Vikings.
