Baseball Falls on the Road to the Pride
Joshua Bissaillon hit a home run, but the Trailblazers dropped a non-conference matchup at Springfield College this afternoon.
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The MCLA Baseball team took to the highway this afternoon, heading to the Archie Allen Field on the campus of Springfield College for a non-conference clash with the Pride.
THE BASICS:
- Date: Tuesday, March 10, 2026
- Score: MCLA 8, Springfield 21
- Records: MCLA Trailblazers 2-1 (MASCAC 0-0) | Springfield College 5-1 (NEWMAC 0-0)
HOW IT WENT DOWN
- MCLA got on the scoreboard first, plating a pair of runs in the top of the first inning when Mike Daley (Wallkill, NY) lined a two-out shot back through the box to score Benjamin Jacob (Pittsfield, MA) and Roshan Warriar (Pittsfield, MA), who had led the inning off with a walk and an infield bunt single.
- The Pride would respond with a crooked number in the bottom of the frame, plating eight runs on only two hits. The home team also added four more runs in the bottom of the second inning on four hits and an error.
- The Trailblazers started to chip away at the Springfield lead in the top of the third inning. Joshua Bissaillon (East Greenbush, NY) homered to the opposite field one batter after Warriar had reached on an error. It was Bissaillon's first home run of the 2026 season. Chris Vargas (Queens Village, NY) then followed with a double into the left-centerfield gap. Three batters later, Collin Gevry (Newtown, CT) was hit by a pitch, followed by an RBI single through the left side by Camden Zerboto (Pittsfield, MA) and another through the right side by Joe Sardo (Great Neck, NY), cutting the home team's lead to 12-6.
- Zerboto added another RBI single in the top of the fifth, plating Jake Jasminski (Milford, CT). It would be the closest MCLA would get, after allowing three runs on two hits and an error in the bottom of the frame.
- The final run for the Trailblazers came in the top of the sixth inning when Warriar led off with a triple into the left-centerfield gap and then scored when Bissaillon knocked in his third run with a single into left.
- Springfield would add two more runs in the seventh on a pair of RBI doubles, and capped the game with four runs on two hits in the eighth.
- Brady Search picked up the win for the Pride, upping his record to 1-0. MCLA's Tyler Anderson (West Babylon, NY) took the loss to fall to 0-1.
