Baseball Drops Two Tight Contests at AMC
Jake Jasminski pitched seven shutout innings as part of two tough losses at Anna Maria this afternoon.
NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The MCLA Baseball team took to the road this afternoon, heading to the New England Baseball Complex for a MASCAC clash with the Anna Maria College AMCATs. Following a tightly played 2-0 loss in the first game, the Trailblazers and AMCATs needed five extra frames to conclude their MASCAC opening series.
THE BASICS:
- Date: Monday, March 30, 2026
- Game #1: MCLA 0, AMC 2
- Game #2: MCLA 1, AMC 2
- Records: MCLA Trailblazers 6-9 (MASCAC 0-3) | Anna Maria College AMCATs 15-6 (MASCAC 6-0)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game #1
- Despite multi-hit days for Joshua Bissaillon (East Greenbush, NY), Mike Daley (Wallkill, NY), and Joe Sardo (Great Neck, NY), the Trailblazers were kept off the scoreboard in the first game.
- Anna Maria posted their runs in back-to-back innings. The first run came in the third inning on Mason Kolczewski's two-out single to right field, which plated Jaiden Driscoll.
- The AMCATs followed that up with another two-out run in the fourth inning when Driscoll reached on an error while Jonathan Guardascione, who had been off with the pitch, scored from second.
- MCLA's Cam Harrington (Pittsfield, MA) struck out six, while limiting AMC to two runs on six hits, but still picked up his first loss, falling to 2-1. The AMCATs' Sean O'Hara also allowed only six hits but kept this score sheet clean, striking out three and leveling his record at 2-2. Conor Francesconi pitched the seventh for AMC and provided some hope to the Trailblazers, allowing the game-tying run to reach base before inducing a pair of foul ball pop-ups to record his third save of the year.
- Game #2
- Both teams needed 12 innings to finally score their first runs of the game. MCLA posted their run when Christopher Gallagher (Albany, NY) forced a seven-pitch walk and was advanced to second on a sac bunt by Sardo. The junior then evaded a tag and scored on Collin Gevry's (Newtown, CT) lined shot back up the middle, and the throw from centerfield pulled the catcher up the third base line.
- AMC responded with two runs in the bottom of the 12th, both runs scoring on a sacrifice fly to deep centerfield by Josh Batchelder with Kolczewski scoring from third, and Brady Aylward motoring all the way from second base.
- The Trailblazers' Jake Jasminski (Milford, CT) threw seven shutout innings, scattering eight hits and striking out four, only to be matched by the AMCATs' Christopher Reardon, who allowed only two hits over seven innings. After a scoreless inning by Jacob Gluchacki, Francesco De Vivo only allowed two hits and the one run over the final four innings to capture the win and advanced his record to 2-0. MCLA's Roshan Warriar (Pittsfield, MA) struck out three over four and a third innings and absorbed the loss to fall to 0-1.
