Strong second half propels MCLA past Sage 84-80
Led by junior Jon Greenberg's 33 points and 13 boards, MCLA rallied from an 11 point halftime deficit to defeat visiting Sage College 84-80. With the win, MCLA moves to 3-1
North Adams, MA- The MCLA men's basketball team rallied from an eleven point halftime deficit to earn a hard fought 84-80 victory over visiting Sage College. The Trailblazers recieved a strong performance from junior forward Jon Greenberg who tallied 33 points and 13 boards.
Sage came out strong in the first half shooting just over 60% from the field en route to 44-33 edge at the half. The Gators would hold the lead for much of the second half until a burst from the Trailblazers turned the tide.
Greenberg was a force in the second half as he produced 22 points on 8-8 shooting to set the tone. The Trailblazers rode his hot hand and kept chipping away at the lead until senior Mike Perrault finally gave MCLA their first lead with just under 5 minutes to play. Perrault scored MCLA's final six points, all from the line, to seal the victory.
With the win, MCLA improves to 3-1, while Sage falls to 1-3. The Gators were led by Garret Bishop and Matt Farbotko, who each tallied 18 points. Matt Lee added 16. MCLA is back in action on Sunday when they host Williams College at 6pm.
