Trailblazer Men selected fourth in preseason MASCAC poll
The MCLA Men's Basketball team was selected to finish fourth in the preseason MASCAC coaches poll. The Trailblazers finished second a year ago under the direction of head coach Jamie Morrison.
2011-2012 MASCAC Preseason Poll
North Adams, MA- The MCLA Men's Basketball team was selected to finish fourth in the preseason MASCAC coaches poll. The Trailblazers, who finished second a year ago, finished with 23 points in the poll. Defending regular season champion, Salem State, was selected as the preseason favorite.
MCLA, under the direction of Jamie Morrison, return a host of key contributors from a year ago. Leading the charge is All MASCAC selection Chris Harris. The senior will be counted on to carry a good portion of the scoring load this season. Harris finished second on the team last year in scoring.
Other key returnees include Jamal Brown, Tyrell Mosley, Bilal Shabazz, Tyriq Rochester, and Ramon Viches. All saw significant time last season for the Trailblazers.
Following Salem State in the poll is Westfield State. Bridgewater State enters the poll as the third choice in front of MCLA. MCLA edged Framingham by a point for the fourth spot, while Worcester is sixth. Fitchburg rounds out the poll.
MCLA will open play at home when they host Sage College.
