Yearsley claims MASCAC top rookie for the fourth time
MCLA first year forward Noah Yearsley was selected as the MASCAC rookie of the week the conference office announced this afternoon. It's the fourth time this season that Yearsley has claimed the honor
North Adams, MA- MCLA first year forward Noah Yearsley has once again been recognized as the MASCAC rookie of the week after another solid performance. It's the fourth time (3rd time in last four weeks) that Yearsley has captured the award from the MASCAC office. Drew Healy of regular season conference champion Salem State was honored as the player of the week.
Yearsley averaged 14.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, a block, a steal, and an assist in a 1-1 week for MCLA. His performance midweek against Fitchburg State was one of his best halves of the season. In the contest, he tallied 19 points with 4 rebounds and 2 steals helping to lead the Trailblazers to a hard fought 79-75 win over the Falcons and sweep the season series. Yearsley followed that up with 10 points in a loss to Pine Manor on Saturday.
The talented rookie shot 11-20 (55%) from the floor on the week including a 4-10 showing from three point land.
Yearsley is currently second on the team in scoring at 12.4 points per game. He has scored in double figures in nine of his last 12 outings for the Trailblazers who currently sit in third place in the conference standings.
MCLA has a pair of difficult matchups remaining as they head to Salem State on Wednesday night before hosting Framingham State on Senior Day on Saturday in the regular season finale. The Trailblazers are in the conference playoffs with seeding yet to be determined.
