Men’s Basketball Fall to Amherst College 66-42

AMHERST, Mass. – The MCLA Men's Basketball team wrapped up the Ken Wright Invitational with a 66-42 loss to the host Amherst College Mammoths. JoJo Garcia led the Trailblazers with 12 points and was named to the All-Tournament Team.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• MCLA began the game ice cold, missing their first nine shots as Amherst built up a 15-1 lead. It was more than six and a half minutes into the game when Quentin Gittens scored the first Trailblazer points from the field with 13:24 remaining in the first half.
• JoJo Garcia was the Trailblazers leading scoring for the second game in a row, following his 15-point performance on Friday with 12 points this afternoon.
• Amherst's Will Scherer finished the game with a double-double, scoring 10 points and ripping down 22 rebounds.
• A quartet of double-digit scorers led the Mammoths. In addition to Scherer's 10 points, they also got 13 points from Chris Hammond and 12 points each from Ryker Vance and Bobby Somers.
