HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game opened with seven minutes of back-and-forth play, accounting for six lead changes before falling into a tie at 10 all when junior guard Colin Quinn (South Hadley, MA) collected a pass from senior forward Jayden Mills (Bronx, NY) drained a three the top of the key.
- After Quinn's three, the Blazers responded with an 18-2 run that was capped by an Adam Sarlan layup with 7:15 to go in the first half.
- It wasn't all bad news in the first half for MCLA, they cut the Elms lead back to only 10 points at halftime, thanks to another three from Quinn on a pass from senior guard Craig Williams (Dover, DE) as time expired, going to the locker room with the score 37-27.
- The visiting team then opened the second half with an 18-9 run to grow their lead to a game-high 19 points after a three from Edgardo Jacob Cancel with 11:21 to play.
- Quinn responded with another three of his own, but the Trailblazers wouldn't get any closer than a 12 point deficit following a pair of made free throws by freshman guard Frank Field (Adams, MA) with just under six minutes to go.
- Quinn shared the title of high scorer with the Blazers' Andrew Ciaglo after both guards finished the game with 20 points. Elms also got 19 points from DJ Watkins and 14 points from RJ Mayfield.
