Men’s Basketball Drop Decision to Bridgewater State
Craig Williams had a game-high 25 points, but MCLA fell in MASCAC play this afternoon.
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The MCLA Men's Basketball team took to the road this afternoon, traveling to the Tinsley Center for a MASCAC matchup with the Bridgewater State Bears. Craig Williams scored a game-high 25 points for the Trailblazers, but Louis Jennings led four Bears with double-digit points in a 90-72 win for the home team.

HOW IT WENT DOWN
- The Bears would hold the lead nearly from wire to wire. The team exchanged layups with Louis Jennings scoring for Bridgewater and junior guard Colin Quinn (South Hadley, MA) doing the same for MCLA. Jennings responded with another layup before Quinn was sent to the line on the other end. He would make the first, but Jayden Florestal would come down with a rebound for the home team to start an 8-1 run that would eventually grow to a 15-6 lead.
- Senior guard Craig Williams (Dover, DE) kept MCLA in the game with multiple drives and a trio of three pointers, to score 19 points in the first half.
- The Trailblazers got some help on the defensive end to close out the first half. Junior guard Kamau Franks (Converse, TX) and freshman forward Sol Mierzwa (Austin, TX) provided sparks finished the half with three and two steals respectively.
- The Bears would go into the locker room at half time leading 48-36.
- MCLA trimmed the deficit multiple times in the second half, getting as close as 11 points at 59–48, and later ten points at 65–55.
- Williams would finish the afternoon with a game-high 25 points and a team-high ten rebounds for the first double-double of his career.
- Franks finished with 13 points, the second most he has scored this season, trailing only his 14-point showing at Curry College on November 22nd. Senior forward Jayden Mills (Bronx, NY) scored ten points. Franks and Mills also finished the day with seven rebounds apiece.
- Jennings was a dominant force for Bridgewater, recording a double-double of his own with 22 points and 21 rebounds.
