NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – The MCLA Men's Basketball team welcomed Anna Maria College into the Amsler Campus Center Gymnasium for a MASCAC clash with the AMCATs. Craig Wiliams led all scorers with 28 points while Frank Field added 16 points and seven rebounds as MCLA rolled to its third conference win of the season.
THE BASICS
- Date: Wednesday, February 4, 2026
- Score: AMC 70, MCLA 93
- Records: Anna Maria College AMCATs 5-14 (MASCAC 2-7) | MCLA Trailblazers 6-12 (MASCAC 3-6).
HIGHLIGHTS
- MCLA opened the game with their shooting shoes on, rushing out to a 7-0 lead on baskets by senior guard Craig Williams (Dover, DE) and freshman guard Frank Field (Adams, MA) before junior guard Colin Quinn (South Hadley, MA) capped the run with a three pointer, forcing the AMCATs to call their first time out to staunch the bleeding.
- The Trailblazers extended several first-half possessions thanks to offensive rebounds by senior forward Jayden Mills (Bronx, NY), Field, Quinn, and graduate student guard Colby Burleson (Pittsboro, NC). Graduate student forward Jaxen Potter's (Ballston Spa, NY) put-back layup with around 13 and a half minutes was just one of several resets that allowed MCLA to drain any momentum Anna Maria could mount.
- It was the Trailblazers' defensive pressure that helped the team build a 47-22 halftime lead. Two steals by Mills in the first four minutes and a steal by Potter that led directly to a layup by junior guard Kamau Franks (Converse, TX) were all part of the disruptions by the home team.
- Coming out of the half, MCLA doubled down on its defensive pressure. Franks forced a turnover that led directly to a Williams layup, and less than seven seconds later, Williams scored again, this time on a steal of his own.
- The Trailblazers were zoned in from beyond the arc in the second half, hitting on seven of their ten attempts from downtown. The first was by Franks (assisted by Williams) around the 18-minute mark, then Williams sandwiched a pair of threes at 13:28 and 7:08 around a pair by junior guard Kymani Harley (Pittsfield, MA).
- MCLA closed the game out with confidence, as junior guard Terrell McCoy (Alexandria, VA) converted on a transition layup and junior guard Michael Chiodo (Woburn, MA) contributed a late bucket.
- The Trailblazers had five players finishing the night with double-digit point totals. Williams led all scorers with 28 points, followed by 16 for Field, 12 by Harley, 11 for Franks, and ten by Quinn.
- Field paced all players with seven rebounds, followed by five each for Mills and Quinn.
