Trailblazers Show Depth and Determination in High‑Scoring Battle
MCLA dropped a MASCAC battle this afternoon.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – The MCLA Men's Basketball team took to the road this afternoon, heading east to the Woodward Athletic Center on the campus of Westfield State University for a clash with the MASCAC leading Owls. Despite a fast‑paced matchup that ultimately tilted in Westfield State's favor, the Trailblazers delivered several strong stretches of play and multiple standout individual performances in both halves of Saturday's game.

HIGHLIGHTS
- MCLA opened the game with confidence on offense, sparked by junior guard Colin Quinn (South Hadley, MA), who buried two early three‑pointers and added a pair of free throws to keep the Trailblazers in front during the first several minutes. His early shooting gave MCLA an 8–4 lead and established offensive rhythm.
- The Trailblazers' freshman guard Frank Field (Adams, MA) delivered key baskets, including a jumper and a strong layup, while also recording a block that erased a Westfield attempt at the rim, while senior guard Craig Williams (Dover, DE) converted a put‑back layup to regain the lead at 10–8.

- A pair of Owls led all scorers with 26 points apiece by Keith Mency and Kenney Rogers. Jason James and A.Z. Allah rounded out a quartet of double-digit scorers for Westfield.
