MCLA Golf in tenth place, Ortega in hunt for Individual title
The MCLA golf team shot a total of 324, good enough for tenth out of 18 teams in the opening round of the Williams Invitational at Taconic Golf Club. Trailblazer Junior Shane Ortega continued his stellar play with a 2-over par 73 and currently sits in sixth place. The final round will be played Sunday
Williamstown, MA- The MCLA golf team shot a total of 324, good enough for tenth out of 18 teams in the opening round of the Williams Invitational at Taconic Golf Club. Trailblazer Junior Shane Ortega continued his stellar play with a 2-over par 73 and currently sits in sixth place. The final round will be played Sunday.
MCLA trails first round leaders Williams and Manhattanville College, who posted a team total of 300. Ortega's round leaves him only three shots back of leader of Salem State's Nick Zolotas, who fired a one under par round of 70. A trio of players are tied at even par, while one player is at one over 72.
