MCLA 7th at WNEC

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Western New England men's golf team fired a

season low 307 to take honors at its own WNEC Invitational Thursday

afternoon (Apr. 14) at Veterans Memorial Golf Course.

UMass Dartmouth sophomore Matt Connolly (Lynnfield, MA) was the medalist

with a 73, which included an eagle on the par 5, 474-yard (over water)

third hole.

Shane Ortega of MCLA finished 7th overall.

Salem State was a stroke behind to finish second (308) with Nichols

(314), UMass Dartmouth (319), and Elms (321) rounding out the top five.

Tufts came in sixth (323) followed by Massachusetts College (327),

Babson (331), Springfield (331), Westfield State (335), Endicott (340),

and Wesleyan (344).
