Ortega finishes second in MASCAC Golf Championships
MCLA senior Shane Ortega shot a 77 to finish second in the MASCAC Championships held at Blackstone Valley Golf Course.
Worcester, MA- MCLA senior Shane Ortega shot a five over par 77 en route to finishing second in the MASCAC Championship golf tournament held at Blackstone Valley Golf Club. Nick Zolotas of Salem State claimed individual honors with a spectacular six under par 66.
Ortega was consistent all day shooting nines of 38-39 for his 77. Zolotas got off to a sizzling start shooting four under on the front before coming in with a few more birdies for his 66.
Ortega was not the only Trailblazer to climb the MASCAC leaderboard. Teammate Sean Cota finished fifth with a nine over par 81. Cota recorded nines of 40 and 41 for his total.
Salem State also claimed the team title.
