MCLA seventh after day one of NAC Championships, Cota in the hunt

WATERVILLE, Maine – Husson University carded a 315 to lead after the first day of competition at the 2012 North Atlantic Conference Men's Golf Championship, Saturday at the Waterville Country Club.
The defending champion Eagles were led by Lance Bernier's round of 75 on the par 70, 6267-yard Waterville course; Bernier finished the day tied with the University of Maine at Farmington's Joe Messerman and Johnson State's Kevin Dwyer atop the individual leaderboard.
Salem State (316) finished one shot off the pace, led by Matt Sebet's round of 77. UMaine-Farmington (321) will head into Sunday's second round in third place, followed by Johnson State (327) in fourth.
Play resumes Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
