MCLA's Cota earns All NAC Golf first team honors

North Adams, MA- Led by his fifth place finish in last weekend's NAC Championships, MCLA Senior Sean Cota was named to the league's all conference first team as announced by the league offices.  Cota has been a four year member of the golf program.

Husson University junior Lance Bernier carded a 145 (75, 70) at the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship this past weekend, earning NAC Golfer of the Year honors. Bernier's even-par 70 on Sunday was the low-round of the tournament, as Husson won its seventh-straight title.

Bernier makes his first appearance on the All-Conference First Team, and is joined by teammate Greg Martin, the league's Rookie of the Year. Castleton's Brian Fitzgerald, the 2011 Rookie of the Year, finished five strokes back in second place, while Matt Sebet and Orion Cochrane of Salem State and University of Maine at Farmington respectively finished tied for third. MCLA's Sean Cota rounded out the first-team honorees, deadlocked in fifth.

Maine Maritime, led by first-year Head Coach Craig Dagan was awarded the conference Team Sportsmanship Award.
