Young in contention at NAC Championships
MCLA Freshman Nick Young is currently just three shots back after the opening round of the NAC Championships.

Georgetown, Mass.-- Husson University leads the field after the first round of the 2014 North Atlantic Golf Championship at Black Swan Country Club in Georgetown, Mass. The Eagles, who are vying for their ninth straight conference title, earned aone-stroke lead with a 20-over-par score of 308.
Salem State sits in second, one shot back, while Castleton State finished theday tied for third along with Maine Maritime, which each shot a +28 (316) on the 6,500 yard, par-72 course.
Maine Maritime's Keenan Kalthoff sits on top of the individual leader board finishing with a 1-over-par total of 73. Kalthoff birdied the first two holes, and finished with a birdie on the par-5 18th hole. Salem State's Connor McDonagh-Poh remains one stroke back, while Husson's trio of Greg Martin, Greg Pike, and Colby Snell all tied for third, shooting a +3, 75 to remain in contention for medalist honors.
MCLA's Nick Young is just three shots back following a solid 76 on day one.
Maine Farmington (344), MCLA (362), and Johnson State (418) round out the NAC field after day one. The second round gets underway Sunday at 10:30 a.m. with UMaine Farmington, MCLA and Johnson State teeing off first. Husson, Salem State, Castleton State and Maine Maritime will begin their rounds at 11:20 a.m.
