Golf ready to host NAC Championships on Sunday/Monday at Berkshire Hills Country Club

The MCLA Athletics department will host the 2017 NAC Championships on Sunday and Monday at Berkshire Hills Country Club. The winner of the 36 hole event qualifies for the NCAA tournament in the spring

Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts athletics and the Berkshire Hills Country Club (Pittsfield, Mass.) will play host to the 2017 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Men's Golf Championship Sunday and Monday, October 15 and 16.

The 36-hole event will begin Sunday at 11:30 a.m., and will conclude Monday after all rounds have been completed. Tee times for Monday's final round will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Nine teams will vie for the 2017 conference championship that was captured by Husson for the second-consecutive season. The Eagles held the title for eight-straight seasons before Salem State earned the championship in 2014.

The 2017 NAC Champion will earn the conference's automatic bid into the 2017 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship.

Location – Berkshire Hills Country Club, Pittsfield, Mass. (6,600 yards, Par-72)
Sunday Start – 11:30 a.m.
Monday Start – 8:30 a.m.
Competing Institutions – Castleton, UMaine-Farmington, Green Mountain, Husson, Johnson, Maine Maritime, MCLA, UMaine-Presque Isle, Salem State
Format – The championship will be a 36-hole format with five golfers from each institution competing. The scores of the lowest four individuals on each team, total strokes over the two days, will count toward the team total. The team with the lowest total will be declared the champion.
