Golf announces 2018 schedule, opens at home on September 13th
The MCLA Golf program will compete in six matches this fall including a trio of multi day events. The Trailblazers open up at Berkshire Hills CC on September 13th
North Adams, MA- The MCLA Athletics department has released the 2018 Golf schedule for this fall. The Trailblazers will compete in six events this fall, including a trio of 36 hole events. MCLA will open at their home course, Berkshire Hills Country Club, on Thursday, September 13th.
The Trailblazer Invitational will host programs from around New England. The invitational was captured by Rhode Island College last season and is an 18 hole championship. Both team and individual champions will be crowned.
MCLA will stay in the Berkshires on September 22-23rd when they make the short trip to Williams College and Taconic Golf Club for the Williams Invitational. The 36 hole championship will be played over two days on one of the top courses in Massachusetts. Just a few days later (9/26), the Trailblazers will head to Tekoa Country Club and compete in the Westfield State Invitational before heading into the MASCAC Championships. The MASCAC Championships will be played at Blackstone Valley GC on October 2nd and hosted by Worcester State. Last year, MCLA had the honor of hosting the tournament.
A pair of 36 hole events wrap up the slate for MCLA in 2018. The Trailblazers head to Elms College for their invitational on October 7th and 8th. MCLA will play a pair of difficult courses in Hickory Ridge and the Orchards over the weekend in a 36 hole tournament.
The Trailblazers then round out the fall season with the 36 hole NAC Championships. After hosting last year, MCLA will head up to the Country Club of Vermont for this years event hosted by Green Mountain. The winner of the NAC championships will head off to the NCAA Championships in the spring.
