Golf, Gover, Earn Second at NEC Invitational

SUTTON, New Hampshire—For the second straight event, the MCLA Golf team claimed a second place finish this afternoon at the New England College Invitational held at the Country Club of New Hampshire. Matt Gover, coming off his first career win as a Trailblazer last weekend at the Norwich Invitational, finished second in the individual competition as well.

The host Pilgrims took the team title with a combined score of 307. The Trailblazers finished just five strokes off the pace with a score of 312 to take second. Keene State took third with a score of 336 and Wentworth finished fourth with a 341.

New England College sophomore Graham Hassan who finished with a two under par 70, nipped Gover (72) by two strokes to claim the individual title. In turn, Gover drained a 40-foot put on the 18^th hole to edge out NEC's Timothy Carlson (73) for second place.

MCLA's Alex Ferris finished tied for 4^th with a career best 77 while teammates Paul Roeder (77) and Cody White (83) played well helping the Trailblazers to their 2^nd place finish.

The Trailblazers will next host the MCLA Invitational on Tuesday at Waubeeka Country Club in Williamstown.
