Gover Earns Second Straight MASCAC Golfer of the Week Award
MCLA’s Mat Gover has been named the MASCAC Golfer of the Week for the second week in a row.
NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— For the second consecutive week MCLA's Mat Gover (Atkinson, NH) has been selected as the MASCAC Golf Athlete of the Week. Salem State's Joe Orlando (Wakefield, MA) earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Gover posted a new career best 4-under 67, which included seven birdies as he earned his first individual title of the season leading the Trailblazers to back-to-back MCLA Invitational titles. The sophomore also finished tied for 44th at the two-day Williams Invitational (155, +13) moving up thirty spots after the first round posting a 3-over 74 which included three birdies on the back nine.
Gover and the Trailblazes are back in action tomorrow competing in the Brett Williamson Invitational hosted by Westfield State at the Tekoa Country Club.
