Mat Gover earns MASCAC Goalie of the Week

MASCAC Men's Hockey Weekly Awards Release

NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— Freshman goaltender Mathew Gover (Atkinson, NH) has been named the MASCAC Goalie of the Week. Plymouth State's Will Redick and Will Pray were named the Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively.

Gover went 1-0-1 with a GAA of 2.41, making 68 saves with a save percentage of .932. The freshman backstop made 41 stops in a 2-2 tie with MASCAC rival Fitchburg State and then turned back 27 shots in a 4-3 non-conference win over Rivier University. No stranger to MASCAC accolades, Gover won the MASCAC Golfer of the Year this past fall.

Gover and the Trailblazers are back in action this Wednesday when they travel to UMass-Dartmouth for a game at the Hetland Arena. The puck drops at 7:30 PM.
